Wolf enters the diner, once again carrying her flight bag. It was just there at the Gallows, where she left it. Just like a lot of her clothes were just there, strewn all over the floor (some bled on profusely by the unfortunately possessed man). She has all that in her bag, minus the clothes too blood-stained to bother with. Wolf finds a place to sit, and gets out the book she recently received from her church contacts: Daemones pro Stulti. It's been a long time since she studied them. When the waitress comes, she looks up, asks for coffee and eggs, scrambled, and goes back to her book.

Its only a few minutes after Wolf arrives that Minnie practically stumbles into the diner. She's shaking her umbrella off as she enters, after which she hangs the bright yellow piece on the rack and moves toward the counter. Only, she doesn't make it many steps before her shoes, little heels not great for the rain, slip and send her sliding up against Wolf's seat. Not hard enough to jostlte the woman seriously. But enough for her to loose her balance and grab the back of the seat with an exclaimed, "Oopsie! Sorry about that!"

It was later in the morning, but Clifton was just getting into town. Having been helping with some stuff up at the homestead. The young man wears his signature black leather jacket, faded shirt underneath and jeans. Over it all he wears an oversized raincoat, a hand-me-down from somebody larger from the looks of how it fits on him. All of his clothing looked well worn and his hair was in it's usual state of mess.

Or rather an even worse state of mess with the rain assisting in plastering it in all directions over his face. Stepping into the diner a few minutes after Minnie, he shakes his head to free some of the water droplets a moment before raking a hand through his hair in attempts to get it out of his face. Clifton then looks around for an open seat. There seemed to be quite a few people trying to escape the rain…

Sasha came in right behind Clifton, closing her black umbrella and hanging it up next to the bright yellow one. Her eyes dance over those within the bar and a smile curls her lips as she spies Clifton. Her steps make their way over to him, as she is dressed in all black with her hair pinned up. As she draws closer she says "Good morning Clifton, quite wet weather we are having aren't we?" Slipping into the seat next to him.

Wolf turns to try and catch Minnie as she falls, but is too late. Fortunately, Minnie catches herself. "Are you alright?" she drawls. Well she sounds like a local, even if she's a fairly recent arrival. The book lies open. It's a reprint of a much older tome, and written entirely in Latin.

Minnie beams at Wolf, and when she speaks again her French accent becomes a tad more prevalent. "Oh thank you, I'm fine. Sorry to- " She pauses, noting the book with a slight widening of the eyes, then begins again with just as bright a smile, "Bother your reading. That's some novel, by the way." Whether she can tell what it actually is? Who knows at this point.

With Clifton already seated, all he can really do is just kind of blink as somebody slides into the booth next to him. Then, seeing it's Sasha, a surprised smirk spreads on his features. "Sasha. Hi." Her comments gets a chuckle from him as a hand moves again through his hair "Yeah…very wet. So…" He looks to her, "How are you?"

Sasha giggles softly as she muses "Indeed so." Her hand reaching up to brush one of the wet strands back into his hair as she says "I am well enough. Just been reading a lot lately is all. Pity about the weather though. Was hoping the next time I ran into you it would be sight seeing weather."

Wolf gestures toward the book - and closes it - "It's not a novel. They hadn't been invented when this was written. It's more…advice. Most of it bad. In those times they cured illness by bleeding you, or putting poultices of the most vile things on the wound. There's always some truth to the old books, but sorting it from the rest can be tricky. She looks toward the familiar voice of Clifton and smiles at him, a little ruefully, perhaps. Then she returns her attention to Minnie and gestures to the empty seat across from her. "I don't mind company, if you like. My work is fairly lonely. My name is Raphael. What's yours?"

Minnie giggles, as if perhaps to admit she had been joking. Then her eyes widen again, "You study medicine, then?" Her eyes follow Wolf's to Clifton, a slight question starting to bre in them. But she is easily distracted by the offer to join, and with a smile she slides into the offered seat, finally looking the woman full in the face. "A pleasure, Raphael, call me Minnie. And may I just say, you're lovely."

Clifton 's eyes go upward to 'follow' her hand as it pushes his hair back, a brow lofting as he chuckles again. "Sunshine might be more preferred, but an adventure in the rain is enjoyable too." His gaze goes around the diner a moment, catching sight of Wolf and the corner of his lip lifting in a smirk as he offers a nod of his head to her. He wasn't sure who Minnie was, but whatever curiosity he seems to cause in her expression causes him to loft his on brow in confusion. A glance is given back to Sasha "So how have you been enjoying town? Getting settled in alright?"

Sasha lets her eyes flit to Wolf and Minnie as he gives the nod but looks back to him just as he is asking her about town. Her fingertips slowly caress down the side of his face, hitting the jawline before her hands go to rest upon the table in front of her as she says "I do agree that sunshine would be preferred but I'd be up for an adventure in the rain if you are. I am well enough. And I may have found a house but still double checking things. And how have you been since I saw you last?"

Wolf curls a smile at the flattery. "Thank you. Minnie. Nice to meet you." She slips the book into her flight bag, trying not to let the shotgun in there show. "I'm not a doctor. More…a researcher. It doesn't pay very well, so I model a bit on the side." There. That lie should tie what she said to Clifton weeks ago together with what she's saying to Minnie. Again. Not far from the truth. It's easier to keep track of when she stays close to it. She does note Sasha's caress, and focuses her attention on Minnie. "What is it you do?" Her eggs and coffee

Minnie nods, accepting the reasons easily. She reaches into a pocket of her dress when the waitress returns, and orderes a fried egg, toast and coffee before offering Wolf the card she pulls out. "I design clothes. And I'd just love to make something for you."

As the waitress comes over and Clif orders a coffee. Something warm to combat the chill of the rain. At her caress he just grins "A house? That's exciting. As for myself?" he offers a shrug "Can't complain. Woke up alive this morning so that's good right?" Clifton offers.

Sasha smiles to the waitress as she says "Coffee with sugar please." Her attention then returns to Clif as she says "Alive is a good way to be, otherwise you would be coming into my job in a condition that would indeed make me quite sad."

Wolf Spocks an eyebrow and smiles. "Really? Well. Given the sad state of my wardrobe, and the fact that vanity is one of my enduring weaknesses, how could I possibly refuse?"

"Really?" Minnie is obviously pleased. She glances about, probably looking for her sketching tools, and giggles when she remembers where she is. "Well, you'll have to come and visit my salon, then. You know, you remind me a bit of my friend Beryl. I know its still particularly racy, but I'd just love to put you in a suit!" Another giggle, and she glances up to thank the waitress when her order arrives. Its not long before she's happily enjoying breakfast.

Clifton chuckles again "Well can't have you being sad then. I'll aim to stay alive…" Another glance is given back to the table with Wolf and Minnie giggling at it before the coffees are brought over. After placing his food order, Clifton picks his mug of black coffee up and takes a few gulps from it. He looks to Sasha "Where is the house you're looking at located?"

Sasha places her food order as well and remains close to Clif as she is sitting next to him in the booth. A grin curls her lips as she comments "I could just show you it. I am still learning the street names and all. Just find here easily since it is close to work." She then leans in to whisper to Clif before she takes a sip of her own coffee.

Wolf curls a smile. "I'd love to have a suit tailored to fit me. Especially in winter. Skirts you can walk in are either drafty or get in the mud." She listens to Minnie, letting her go on. Wolf does know something about color and dressing herself, but hey, free clothes. She smiles, and eats her eggs, listening.

Minnie eats slowly, and keeps up a near constant flow of one-sided conversation throughout the meal. She gabbs happily about Wolf's best colors, about fabrics and patterns, and her bright enthusiasm dims only slightly when she touches on the topic of how rationing is affecting her business. "Mostly I enjoy the challenge," She grins, "Just like making suits for women! You know they might be some of my favorite things to make… "

Lowering his coffee back to the table, Clifton glances over to Sasha and runs a hand through his hair again "Unfortunately…I have some tasks I need to tend to after resting here for a bit…rainy days don't keep the chores away."

Sasha lets a soft playful pout dance on her lips before she comments "Pity I can't help you with said chores so we could go off and have some fun. And here you are tempting me with adventures in the rain and not willing to follow through with them. Tsk Tsk Clif." An amused smirk curling her lips before she sips on her coffee once more.

Minnie nods, "Of course, skirts do have their disadvantages. I've yet to try pants myself," She blushes. The mere idea! "But I agree, they do seem vastly more practical. Beryl just swears by them." She sips her coffee thoughtfully, "You know its interesting how many beautiful people are in this town. I think I picked just the right place to move to."

You say, "I'm not entirely sure I'm comfortable having my seat out where the world can see it… I don't think I've met this Beryl." She knows all about the advantages of suits, but has yet to wear them in one of her female guises.

Wolf finishes her eggs, and glances at her watch. "Blast." She quickly takes a card out of her flight bag and scribbles her name and address on it and gives it to Minnie. "I'll be in touch." She looks over to Clifton and gives him a small wave goodbye, then walks out briskly.

Clifton does actually laugh with the playful pout she gives, shaking his head "Oy…you're gonna rub it in aren't you?" Taking another drink of his coffee he sighs, looking to her "Honestly. I wasn't kidding when I mentioned trouble the other day. I'm not exactly the 'upstanding relationship' type of guy and…I'm not so sure that's not what you're aiming for…"

<I had to go at this point. Hopefully someone else will paste the rest of the log to the bottom.>
